Hartlepool Art Society 11th July 2007

Many thanks to all those who joined me for my demonstration on Wednesday evening.

Here is the Watercolour painting as it was when I left.

I have spent around 45 mins. making the following adjustments.

I deepened the shadows in the trees & grass with the following mixes:

  • Cobalt Blue

  • Permanent Magenta

  • Cobalt Blue & Raw Sienna

I increased the warmth of the light on sunlit areas by glazing the following neat colours onto dry paper.

  • Indian Yellow

  • Aureolin

  • Cobalt Violet

  • Burnt Sienna

  • Cerulean Blue

I added slight detail to the tree trunks, fencing posts & farm implement by using the following colours:

  • Raw Umber & Cobalt Blue

  • Ultramarine Blue & burnt Sienna

  • Burnt Sienna & Ultramarine Blue

This is the completed painting.
